Mike Rasmussen joined Kunzler, PC in 2012, and has experience in patent drafting, patent prosecution, and patentability searches for software and mechanical devices, with a large percentage of drafting and prosecution work focusing on data storage devices. He also has experience in trademark searching and prosecution, and in patent and trademark litigation.
Before joining the firm, Mr. Rasmussen interned in-house with Parlant Technology, where worked with in-house counsel to patent the company's core technology, defend patent infringement litigation, and write software licenses.
Mr. Rasmussen earned his law degree from Brigham Young University's J. Reuben Clark Law School in 2012. In law school, he was in the top 10% of his class and won the J. Reuben Clark Award for academic excellence. Prior to law school, he earned his B.S. degree in physics from Brigham Young University, with a minor in mathematics. His undergraduate experience includes working with vacuum ultraviolet and carbon nanotubes, and jobs in software support.
In his spare time, Mr. Rasmussen is involved with sacred harp singing, genealogy, hiking, and camping, and enjoys solving computer programming puzzles.
